The Oakfield Community Foundation, an affiliate fund of the Fond du Lac Area Foundation, has awarded numerous grants that support the core values of the Oakfield Community Foundation since its inception in December of 2005.
2005
• OCF provided the start up costs for a new club at Oakfield Middle School. This funding enabled the club to purchase candy for a candy sale in an effort to make the club self-sufficient and teach students business and marketing activities. As a service learning project, the club, named Six Traits Plus One delivered May baskets to community members.
• OCF supported the development of a student-run school newspaper, called the “O” by purchasing a digital camera and publishing program.
2006
• The OCF provided funding to the Oakfield School District and the Oakfield Public Library so author Peter Roop, could visit the Oakfield Community and gave two presentations. One for the students of Belle Reynolds and Saint Luke’s School and a second for all community members at the Oakfield Library.
• The combined efforts of the students in the Oakfield High School Construction and Biology classes were acknowledged with an accepted proposal to purchase supplies and build an Ecosystem display for the school. This was phase 1 of a two phase project.
2007
• Phase 2 of the ecosystem observatory was funded and the purchase of animals, plants on other set-up needs for the ecosystem was completed. The Observatory will used by students in the biology classes at OHS.
• Joint funding between the OCF and the Oakfield PTO brought in an interactive dance challenge called “Dance Dance Revolution” which was conducted during three physical education class periods for elementary students at Belle Reynolds School.
• Additional digital electronic media equipment was purchased to be used for the photography curriculum, district newsletter, yearbooks, school web pages.
• Oakfield Police Department received a grant for a Personal Safety Workshop offered to the entire community.
